It's time to meet our 2019 June 9th - June 15th Weekly Featured Creative, Karlos!
Tell us about you~ What is your story? Married, kids, fur babies? What things do you do besides your craft? My name is Karlos. I am 24 years old, originally from Maryland and currently located in Orlando, Florida. I am a US Army Veteran, Esthetician, and currently in school to be a Medical Esthetician. Besides doing making and engulfing myself in the beauty industry, I am a dancer. I love to choreograph, runway coach and lead performance teams. I also enjoy putting on show productions and runway fashion shows!
What makes your passion shine and what are you most passionate about when you see your finished work? I am most passionate about how happy I see my clients after I have completed a service for them, whether it be makeup or skincare services. I love to see the beautiful before-and-after results and making my clients feel beautiful in the skin that they are in!
What has been the hardest part of being a photographer/model/makeup artist/hair stylist, etc? The hardest part is making myself stand out from other artists. There are several artists in this industry with talent. But talent isn't always your battle; making sure that I am a well rounded person, mind and business to go along with my talent - is what will make me stand out from the rest.
Genres of choice: Lifestyle/Candid & Portrait
Would you change anything that you have learned? No. I have taken every bit of knowledge from all peers that I have come across and I appreciate it greatly.
What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind with your work? I want to leave the legacy of confidence. I want people to always feel confident in the work that I provide to them. Not a doubt in their mind about their appearance. Making a stand in their life to own their self.
What advice do you have for people just starting out? I say 'just confidence and do not second guess or compare yourself or your artistry'.
Thank you Karlos for sharing your creative journey with us! We love having you as part of the Artistic Alliance Community!
