Artistic Alliance June 16th - June 22nd - Weekly Feature - Beatriz Jimenez-Green

Updated: Dec 4, 2019

It is time to meet our June 16th - June 22nd, 2019, Weekly Feature Creative, Beatriz!

Type of Creative: Photographer

Genres: Lifestyle/Candid, Portrait & Weddings

Tell us about you! What is your story? Married, kids, fur babies? What things do you do besides your craft? When I'm not running around and photographing the worlds most amazing people, I'm home with my daughter and husband, Ortiz, or you can catch me at Disney World.

Photographers... be straight with us... what brand do you use? What is your favorite piece of gear - lens, camera body, etc? I'm a Nikon girl! Honestly, I wanted my first camera to be Nikon just because it was so iconic to me, and now I'm just so used to it that any other brand feels like a foreign language. Currently, I'm obsessed with my D750 and 35mm. The lens never comes off my camera; it's just so versatile!

What makes your passion shine and what are you most passionate about when you see your finished work? I'm so passionate about creating images that feel full of emotion and there's something that thrills me when I give a client a gallery and they're speechless or just moved by the pictures. I want to make people feel things when they see one of my images.

What has been the hardest part of being a photographer/model/makeup artist/hair stylist, etc? The hardest part of my job I feel is communicating when I have a certain vision for a session and explaining it in a way where people understand me and can see it too. As a creative, you can envision a session that's stunning, but relating that vision and explaining it can sometimes be tricky... you hear a lot of "I promise, it'll photograph so beautifully! Trust me!," come out of my mouth. It's all about having a trusting relationship with your clients, and finding clients who want your work because of those visions.

Would you change anything that you have learned? Not for a second!

What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind with your work? I feel like every time I send a client gallery, I leave a little piece of me with them... that's all the legacy I need in my work. I find joy in knowing that these families will have my photos forever as memories.

What advice do you have for people just starting out? Don't quit, practice everyday, and just go for it.

Thank you Beatriz for sharing your creative journey with us! We love having you as part of the Artistic Alliance Community!
