Updated: Dec 4, 2019

We're not sure if it's just us, but summer feels like it's flying by so fast!

Let's continue with our summer creatives... now welcoming Crysta for our July 21st - 27th Creative of the Week!

Model Name: Crysta Anne Marie

Type of Creative: Model & Actor

Genres: Lingerie/Boudoir/Nude, Lifestyle/Candid, Fashion, Portrait, Weddings & Event

Tell us about you! What is your story? Married, kids, fur babies? What things do you do besides your craft? I'm a born and raised Floridian and was home-schooled through high school. I was a competition dancer through my childhood, but migrated towards theatre during my young adulthood. I am a passionate reader and particularly love Shakespeare. I currently work in film, stage, and modeling with freelance jobs in real estate and marketing management. My partner Ryan and I currently live in Winter Park with our three rabbits (Juniper, Belle, and Calliope) and parrot (Silver). Hobbies and interests include: graphic design, culinary arts, media marketing, traveling on a budget, and haunted houses.

What has the been the hardest part of being a model? How long have you been a model? The hardest part for me is the business side of our industry. Everyone wants to be paid, but knowing how to navigate the industry and not get offended if someone doesn't want to work with you is tough. It took a while for me to be okay with rejection. But sometimes we're not right for the job, and that's okay!

What makes you passion shine and what are you most passionate about when you see your finished work? I adore seeing the photographer or artist being elated with the photos/video. Seeing that spark and knowing that I made their vision and dream for the shoot come true is the biggest job I could get.

Would you change anything that you have learned? What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind with your work? I wish people wouldn't take themselves so seriously. It's okay to be professional, but if there's no joy or happiness during the gig, it will show in the result.

Among your works, which is your favorite and why? I want to create art that tells a story. I have an extensive theatrical background and I love bringing that into my modeling to really push the boundaries of modeling. I want there to be a reason for my work, and furthermore, to have external causes that my work supports.

What advice do you have for people just starting out?

*Know that you're beautiful and be proud of you.

*Ladies, don't be timid in communicating your desires for a shoot. Be professional, but be honest. You'll be respected for it, and if someone doesn't, they're the issue. Not you.

*Be daring, but BE SAFE. Safety is key. Do the research, bring a partner, tell someone where you're going and for how long. You should go do the shoot, but just know before you go. Be smart and be realistic. People can be unkind, but your safety matters more than anything.

*Don't forget to have fun. Don't lose the passion. <3
