It is time to meet our February 23rd-29th, 2020, Weekly Feature Creative, Teala!
Creative's Name: Teala Tealily
Type of Creative: Model
Genres: Fashion & Portrait
Tell us about you! What is your story? Married, kids, fur babies? What things do you do besides your craft? No kids, single! I love to volunteer, read, and take dance classes.
What has been the hardest part of being a photographer/model/makeup artist/hairstylist, etc? How long have you been a photographer/model/makeup artist/hairstylist, etc? I've been a model on and off for 21 years. The hardest has been when photographers look at me like I can't model because they don't like my look. It's not a good feeling when people look at you like you don't below, but then I remember that I have my own modeling and photography group that has produced many beautiful pictures!!
What makes your passion shine and what are you most passionate about when you see your finished work? Passionate about improving!
Would you change anything that you have learned? What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind with your work? Not so much for my modeling, but my organized. I want to be known as an organizer that lets all types of talent join and produce beautiful themes and pictures!
Among your works, which your favorite & why? I have several that I like. I really like working with photographers George Berner, Stephen King, Tom Conley, Tracy Wimberly, and Rob Nelson. They have taken amazing pictures of me over the years!
What inspires you? Who's work has influenced you most? What is the most rewarding part for you? Life inspires me! When I was younger I used to love looking at pictures of Iman and Beverly Johnson! Most rewarding is when I see the finished product and I see me, in some of my pictures, and I'm like "wow!".
MODELS... Modeling is a competitive field. What makes you stand out from the others? Well, I know some people find this weird, but even though I'm a short model, I have a strong runway walk.
MODELS... What is your greatest strength? What do you need to improve on? What are your goals? I can hold difficult poses. I would like to learn more about different poses. I am getting up there in age, and I would like to model as long as I can.
Tell us something we wouldn't know about you, from looking at your portfolio. I organize my own modeling and photography group and I used to be a photographer.
What advice do you have for people just starting out? Don't lose who you are and if something doesn't feel right, don't do it.
Thank you, Teala, for sharing your creative journey with us! We love having you as part of the Artistic Alliance Community!
