Updated: Dec 4, 2019

It is time to meet our August 25th - August 31st, 2019, Weekly Feature Creative, Corrina!

Creative's Name: Corrina Powell-Arnudts

Type of Creative: Model

Genres: Swim & Portrait

Tell us about you! What is your story? Married, kids, fur babies? What things do you do besides your craft? I am a current college student studying to be a marine biologist! I've always loved the sea and taking care of animals! My dad is also a veterinarian, so I've always been around all kinds of different animals and have helped him out! Now, I know that animals from the sea and land are drastically different but they all deserve kindness and love!

What has been the hardest part of being a model? How long have you been a model? The hardest part about being a model is rejection and confidence. People expect you to look a certain way, act a certain way, etc. If you don't fit a criteria, you're cut just like that. You really need to understand that rejection is not the end of the world. Just believe in yourself. I've been a model for roughly 6 months now.

What makes your passion shine and what are you most passionate about when you see your finished work? I am passionate about helping people out and making people smile! I currently work at Universal Studios and I love attending to people whether it's giving directions or helping kids find their parents. Just knowing that I made their day a little brighter, makes me happy.

Would you change anything you have learned? What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind with your work? I would not change anything I have learned. Every mistake is a stepping stone for something better. It no one made mistakes, then you wouldn't be wiser and/or smarter. Now some things are out of your hands, but having the right mind set - you can overcome the obstacle shows your true skills. What I want people to learn from me and my work is that no matter how hard life may seem, you have to keep pushing and trying. Keep helping others and having a positive mind set! People truly see that in others and in the long run, being content with yourself is all that matters. Not money, fame, or fortune.

Among your works, which is your favorite & why? Among my works, my favorite by far is working at Universal because even when things are packed and crazy, I have a way of calming and making people feel less frustrated while at the park.

What inspires you? Who's work has influenced you most? What is the most rewarding part for you? What inspires me to push forward and want more for my life is my family. Seeing how they have struggled financially and personally. I want to improve and provide for my mother and sister. Give them a better life, what they deserve. That's what keeps me going and excelling for more.

MODELS... Modeling is a competitive field. What makes you stand out from the others? What makes me stand out is my determination, maturity, patience, and hospitality. Of course my "exotic" appearance too, but with only looks I know for a fact I wouldn't get far in this industry. I'm always on-time and very outgoing with whomever I'm working with. I always try to make the session or show enjoyable and fun for everyone.

MODELS... What is your greatest strength? What do you need to improve on? What are your goals? My greatest strengths are punctually, maturity, outgoing, and kindness. I need to improve on my self-esteem and communication. My goals are to show that no matter what background or financial situation, that if you truly want to model and become something greater, that you can with enough grit and determination.

Tell us something we wouldn't know about you, from looking at your portfolio. From looking at my portfolio, you wouldn't be able to tell my personality really well. I'm very outgoing and bubbly, but I can also be very serious and mature. I like to follow through with my tasks and make assignments easier for others.

What advice do you have for people just starting out? My advice to others is that "if you're timid or shy, time to grow out of that. In this industry, you have to have the confidence and back-bone to survive. Yeah, you'll get rejected a lot! But if you don't keep pushing and trying to network and attend shows, TFP's, etc. then you will not make it far. You just need to believe in yourself."

Thank you Corrina for sharing your creative journey with us! We love having you as part of the Artistic Alliance Community!
