Tell us about you! What is your story? Married, kids, fur babies? What things do you do besides your craft? I love photography, but I have a passion for video as well. I love being able to tell a story through video. I like fishing and riding my motorcycle in my off time.
Be straight with us... what brand do you use? What is your favorite piece of gear - lens, camera body, etc? Sony A7iii and my favorite lens is the 85mm 1.8.
When you go on one of your travels, where do you go & what gear do you bring with you? I like finding local areas that are beautiful. I don't like lugging a lot of gear so I usually just bring the basics. Camera, flash, and a tripod.
What editing programs do you use? Adobe Photoshop, iMovie, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom.
What has been the hardest part of being a photographer/videographer? How long have you been a photographer/videographer? I've been a photographer and videographer for about 5 years. Finding clients without paying for leads is difficult.
What makes your passion shine and what are you most passionate about when you see your finished work? Everyone has their own style and it shows in their work. I always try to think outside the box and push my skills when it comes to editing.
Would you change anything that you have learned? What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind with your work? "Take a photo, it'll last longer" ~ that quote is for people staring too long, but it's true a photo will be around forever. Just have to create some that people will want to look at that long.
Among your works, which is your favorite and why? Cosplay is my favorite subject to shoot. It's very creative. Cosplayers are proud of their work and it shows in their photos.
What inspires you? Who's work has influenced you most? What is the most rewarding part for you? I love Peter McKinnon's work and I love that he uses his platform to teach others. Photography is rewarding for me because I can show people how the world sees them.
Tell us something we wouldn't know about you, from looking at your portfolio. I'm from Michigan and moved to Florida when I was 21. I didn't have anything or any money. 14 years later and I'll be retired when I turn 47.
What advice do you have for people just starting out? Just stay shooting. Use your friends and family as models. Learn photoshop, there are a ton of resources on YouTube.
What is one accomplishment you achieved this year? I traveled to New York to shoot a video for a client. I've never been there, so it was cool to get to go and have it paid for. I shot and edited a cosplay video that was shown at Mega Con.
